Labradorite

Labradorite is a type of sodium-potassium feldspar. It was discovered on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, after which it is named. It comes in a variety of colours, most commonly in shades of blue and green. This phenomenon is called labradorescence or the Schiller effect and is caused by the refraction of light inside the stone. Its hardness is rated 6,5 on the Mohs scale.
