Heulandite

Heulandite is a common yet highly sought-after mineral belonging to the Zeolite group. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, typically forming distinct, coffin-shaped or tabular crystals with a characteristic pearly luster on the cleavage planes. It forms as a secondary mineral in the cavities (vesicles) of basaltic lava flows through low-grade hydrothermal activity. These mineral-rich solutions filled the voids in volcanic rocks millions of years ago. While often colorless or white, the presence of trace inclusions (such as celadonite) can tint the crystals into beautiful shades of green, peach, or brick red.
