Grape Agate

Despite its commercial name, grape agate is actually a type of chalcedony with a "bubble-like" crystal shape. It is a cluster of small, closely interconnected, round-shaped crystals that grow in layers. This crystal shape is called 'botryoidal' and derives from the Greek word bótrus, which means grape-like. Grape agate occurs in shades of blue, greenish, white and, more rarely, purple.
