Carnelian
Carnelian is a brownish-red to orange variety of Chalcedony, which is a microcrystalline form of Quartz. Its distinct warm palette is caused by impurities of iron oxide (hematite) trapped within the crystal structure. Carnelian typically forms in volcanic environments or as nodules in sedimentary rocks where silica-rich fluids permeate cavities. It has a waxy luster and a conchoidal fracture. On the Mohs scale, it has a hardness of 7, making it a very durable stone that has been prized since antiquity, from ancient Egyptian amulets to Roman signet rings.

Carnelian is a stone of vitality, courage, and creativity. It is believed to give confidence to those who need to find their voice or perform in public.
