Black Amethyst
Black Amethyst is a high-density variety of macrocrystalline quartz. Unlike common purple amethyst, its dark, nearly opaque appearance is caused by a high concentration of hematite inclusions and iron-manganese oxides within the crystal lattice. Geologically, these specimens often form in volcanic basalt cavities. The presence of these mineral inclusions occurs during the primary crystallization phase, resulting in a unique combination of quartz hardness and the grounding properties of iron oxides. These formations are remnants of prehistoric volcanic activity where mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids cooled in deep pockets of rock.
Metaphysical properties
Black Amethyst combines the high-vibrational qualities of purple Amethyst with the grounding properties of Hematite. It is considered an excellent stone for environmental purification, as it is believed to absorb and neutralize negative frequencies. It is used to calm an overactive mind and provide emotional protection. It helps maintain spiritual clarity while staying firmly anchored in physical reality.
